BillionElectric unveils e-mobility platform for commercial EVs, secures $10M in seed funding

BillionElectric, an e-mobility as a Service (eMaaS) platform, has entered the Indian market and secured $10 million in seed funding (including equity and asset lease).

The platform will cater to two main initiatives: deploying electric tarmac buses at Bengaluru International Airport and developing a mid-mile heavy EV trucks platform. The company has also signed a contract to expand its services to 10 additional airports in collaboration with Veera Vahana.

The group’s flagship brand, CHARGE+ZONE, is one of India’s leading charging networks, which shall power up the deployment of electric buses and the development of the EV trucks platform.

Kartikey Hariyani and Mustafa Wajid – the co-founders of BillionElectric, expressed their enthusiasm for the company’s launch and reiterated their dedication to transforming the transportation sector through affordable and environmentally-friendly mobility solutions. They pointed out the anticipated growth in the eMobility industry and emphasized their goal of facilitating the achievement of one billion clean energy miles annually.

The company has formed strategic partnerships with leading OEMs to provide high-quality vehicles, while CHARGE+ZONE’s nationwide charging station network strengthens the charging infrastructure. The platform offers a competitive edge in terms of mobility economics and provides features such as user behaviour data collection, charging station identification, vehicle tracking with geofencing capabilities, and immobilization technology, said an official statement.

BillionElectric aims to overcome challenges in the commercial mobility sector, including high running costs, limited availability of quality EVs, high switching costs, and a lack of charging infrastructure. They aim to provide a one-stop solution on their platform at an optimal cost. Billion Electric wants to support commercial electric vehicles and facilitate zero-emission and efficient transportation of goods for large corporates.
