JBM Electric Vehicles launches ‘GALAXY’ electric luxury coach at Prawaas 5.0

JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), part of JBM Group, launched its next-generation GALAXY electric luxury coach at Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar. The vehicle was unveiled by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, in the presence of Nishant Arya, Chairman of JBM Electric Vehicles.

The company stated that the new coach is designed for intercity travel and is available in three configurations: seater, sleeper, and sleeper & seater.

The sleeper & seater variant is offered in two layouts:

  • 22 reclining seats and 20 sleeper berths with an onboard washroom, or
  • 24 reclining seats and 20 sleeper berths without a washroom.

According to the company, the coach offers the highest seating capacity and luggage space in its segment. JBM EV also stated that the GALAXY platform has demonstrated operations of over 900 km per day.

The coach features panoramic windows, individual air-conditioning vents, reading lights, USB charging ports, and electronically controlled air suspension with kneeling and height adjustment functions for boarding. Safety features include an ADAS-enabled architecture, Electronic Braking System (EBS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), hill-hold assist, surveillance cameras, and emergency exits. The vehicle is powered by modular battery packs and supports fast charging and regenerative braking.

Commenting on the launch, Nishant Arya, Chairman, JBM Electric Vehicles, said “The next generation GALAXY has been developed to meet the evolving expectations of premium inter-city travel with a shamer focus on luxury, utility and business efficiency. It reflects our commitment to creating electric mobility solutions that are sophisticated in design, practical in operation and aligned with the future of sustainable transportation.”

JBM EV stated that it has deployed more than 3,300 electric buses across 17 states and over 12 airports in India. The company said it has an order book of more than 10,000 electric buses and operates an electric bus manufacturing facility in the Delhi-NCR region with an annual production capacity of 20,000 buses. It added that its electric buses have collectively covered 450 million electric kilometres and served more than 1.5 billion passenger trips.
