NSure Reliable Power Solutions to invest INR 1050 crores to produce LFP cells in India
With an investment of INR 1050 Crores, the Gigafactory will come up near Bengaluru with an installed capacity of 1 GWh, says Founder & CEO Chandrakanth Ramalingam. The company plans to start pilot operations by the end of Oct 2023.
NSure Reliable Power Solutions (NSure) has announced it will soon start the pilot production of lithium-ion cells at its Malur Plant near Bengaluru. The company has acquired 80 acres of land for establishing a full-fledged manufacturing unit, envisaging a capacity of 1GWh of LFP Cells, keeping a provision to expand the Gigafactory up to 5 GWh or more in the next phase.
NSure has been a forerunner in securing the State High-Level Clearance Committee’s approval. “Nsure’s full-fledged Li-ion cell manufacturing pilot unit will be ready soon, and we are planning to start operations by the end of October this year,” said Mr Chandrakanth Ramalingam.
NSure has entered into an agreement with the Government of India to further its indigenisation efforts. “In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat, NSure and International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Govt. of India have entered into an agreement for Technical Know-How Transfer and Training to support indigenisation efforts,” added Chandrakanth Ramalingam.
