WeRide autonomous vehicle meets accident during Abu Dhabi DRIFTx

The DRIFTx event in Abu Dhabi took place from November 10-12, 2025, at the Yas Marina Circuit. It is a global event focused on innovations in future mobility, including autonomous vehicles. It has been brought to our knowledge that during the event, an autonomous test vehicle of WeRide (HKEX: 0800, NASDAQ: WRD) was involved in an accident yesterday, i.e. 12 Nov 2025.

According to sources, the incident occurred when a human-operated vehicle merged into the lane occupied by the autonomous vehicle without signalling.

No injuries were reported. However, the vehicle’s side was damaged, the side sensors were detached, and the side mirror fell off on impact.
