About Orxa
Orxa Energies, founded in 2015, is an EV and energy systems company that has secured funding through several rounds of external investments. The company introduced the Mantis concept in 2016. The initial prototype featured a steel tubular frame and a fixed battery pack. In 2018, the company integrated honeycomb composite materials to reduce the motorcycle’s weight, unveiling the Mantis to the public at IBW 2019. During the pandemic, Orxa Energies re-evaluated the design, focusing on weight optimization, resulting in a 25 kg reduction.
On the occasion of the launch, Dr. Prajwal Sabnis, Co-Founder of Orxa Energies, mentioned that their journey began in 2015. He stated that they translated their vision into the initial prototype, which eventually evolved into the Mantis. Over the preceding eight years, extensive efforts were invested in refining the bike’s design and engineering. These refinements were rigorously tested and validated through extensive rides, covering thousands of kilometres on highways, city roads, and gravel tracks across the country.
Ranjita Ravi, Co-Founder at Orxa Energies, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering both partners and customers, driven by their passion for EVs and biking. With the Mantis, the aim is to support the broader EV community, prioritizing the needs of users and bikers. She added, every decision in the development of the Mantis reflects their vision to create a bike truly built by bikers, for bikers.
