Kinetic Engineering re-enters two-wheeler market with DX EV from ₹1.11 lakh
Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has re-entered the two-wheeler segment through its EV subsidiary, Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV), with the launch of the electric Kinetic DX scooter—reviving the 1990s model in a new electric format.
The Kinetic DX EV is offered in two variants—DX and DX+—priced at ₹1,11,499 and ₹1,17,499 respectively (ex-showroom, Pune). Customers can book the scooter on the official website for ₹1,000, with bookings limited to 35,000 units. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in September 2025. The DX+ is offered in five colours—Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black—while the DX is available in Silver and Black.
Key Specifications and Features:
- Battery & Range: Both variants come equipped with a 2.6 kWh LFP battery from Range-X. The DX+ variant offers an estimated IDC range of 116 km, supported by Kinetic’s regenerative K-Coast technology and a 60V system. The battery is designed for 2,500–3,500+ cycles.
- Motor & Performance: The electric motor supports speeds up to 90 km/h and includes three ride modes—Range, Power, and Turbo.
- Design & Storage: The vehicle retains a metal body, has a spacious floorboard, and features 37 litres of under-seat storage.
- Safety & Comfort: Both models include reverse and hill-hold functions, telescopic front suspension, adjustable rear shock absorbers, 220mm front disc, and 130mm rear drum brakes with combi-braking.
- Segment-Specific Features: It include keyless operation (Easy Key), a retractable charging cable available in the DX+ variant (Easy Charge), and a one-touch footrest for pillion riders (Easy Flip).
- Connectivity & Telematics (DX+): Features include real-time ride statistics, geo-fencing, vehicle tracking, intruder alerts, and a Bluetooth-enabled Kinetic Assist switch for CRM support. It also provides music and voice navigation through an integrated speaker.
