Electric vehicle sales in India recorded a mixed trend in February 2026 compared to January 2026. E2W sales declined to 1,11,709 units from 1,23,374, while e-rickshaw sales fell to 34,835 from 44,438. E3W L5 Passenger increased to 21,099 units from 20,553, and E3W L5 Cargo/Goods rose marginally to 3,196 from 3,116. E-cart sales decreased to 7,268 units from 7,658, E4W sales dropped to 13,678 from 19,022, and E-Goods Carrier sales declined to 1,468 from 1,646. However, E-Bus sales increased to 578 units from 391.

India recorded 23,75,276 EV sales from Mar 2025 to Feb 2026, per Vahan Dashboard data (excluding Telangana and low-speed e-2Ws). Monthly sales peaked in October 2025 (2,36,749) and were lowest in February 2025 (1,40,165).

The penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) in the two-wheeler category remained the same for the last two months at 6.6%.

Tata Motors is the clear leader with over 42% market share in e-goods carrier sales in February 2026, followed by Euler Motors and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility.
