ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division, a Germany-based mobility technology company, has secured a multi-year order to supply several thousand units of its AxTrax 2 electric axle to a commercial vehicle manufacturer in India. This marks the debut of ZF’s electric axle in the country, where it will be used in a new fleet of zero-emission intercity buses.

According to Prof. Dr. Peter Laier, Member of the ZF Board of Management and head of the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division for the India region, “This nomination demonstrates how leading manufacturers across the globe are increasingly attracted to our comprehensive technology portfolio. It shows how our tailored solutions support manufacturers at every stage of their electrification journey, enabling them to accelerate their transformation towards cleaner, more efficient mobility. We are delighted to support our customers in this transition. By leveraging the synergy effects created by our cross-divisional expertise in the field of electric drives, we are able to deliver the innovative and reliable e-mobility solutions that also help reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).”

According to the company, the AxTrax 2 is an electric axle designed to replace the engine, transmission, and conventional axle in commercial vehicles. It delivers 210 kW of continuous power and is part of ZF’s modular e-mobility platform, integrating in-house components into a compact, axle-based electric drive solution.
