Blackbuck EV initiates road trials for ELON 3X electric bus

Blackbuck EV has commenced road trials of their ELON 3X electric bus, a 3-axle, 13m model, at their Hyderabad facility. The vehicles will undergo validation and testing prior to certification.

The company plans to introduce the ELON 3X to the market starting in 2025, manufactured at their forthcoming Micro-factories in Hyderabad. Following proving ground trials, public road trials with India’s major transport operators are scheduled for Q1 2025, with production expected to begin in the same quarter, as per the company statement.

Blackbuck EV, founded in 2019, focuses on the Indian bus industry by departing from unsustainable traditional methods. The company’s approach on developing an advanced modular skateboard platform from scratch emphasizes passenger comfort, reliability, and safety while offering fleet operators a cost-effective, efficient, durable, and low-maintenance solution that delivers a quick return on investment. The design of ELON 3X focuses on reducing carbon emissions through recyclable materials and minimal welding, while also addressing Indian market preferences for long journeys, diverse road conditions, and noise reduction, as claimed by the official statement.
