VinFast launches e-SUVs VF 6 and VF 7 in India – Starting at ₹16.49 lakhs and ₹20.89 lakhs respectively

VinFast has launched its first electric SUVs in India, the VF 6 and VF 7, marking the company’s entry into the Indian market. Both models will be manufactured and assembled at its Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu. The VF 6 is priced at ₹16.49 lakh and the VF 7 at ₹20.89 lakh, with benefits including a 10-year/2,00,000 km warranty, free public charging until July 2028, and three years of free maintenance.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said, “Today marks a historic milestone: the launch of cars that are not just made in India, but made by Indians for Indians. We are introducing a complete electric mobility ecosystem, thoughtfully designed for Indian families. The VF 6 and VF 7 embody the perfect harmony of practicality, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology that Indian consumers deserve. Backed by our state-of-the-art Thoothukudi facility and strong ecosystem partnerships, we are committed to supporting India’s vision of becoming a global leader in electric mobility.”

The VF 6 is a compact electric SUV with a 59.6 kWh battery pack, capable of fast charging from 10–70% in about 25 minutes. It has an ARAI-certified range of up to 468 km, a wheelbase of 2,730 mm, and ground clearance of 190 mm.

It will be available in three variants:

  • Earth: 130 kW power, 250 Nm torque, multiple drive modes, 12.9-inch infotainment screen, powered driver seat, cruise control, and automatic AC.
  • Wind: 150 kW power, 310 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, ventilated seats, dual-zone AC with air filtration, 8-speaker system, adaptive cruise control, ADAS Level 2, and 18-inch wheels.
  • Wind Infinity: Adds a panoramic fixed glass roof.

Range: Earth – 468 km, Wind – 463 km.

Standard safety and convenience features include LED projector headlamps, 7 airbags, 360° surround view monitor, connected car technology, rain-sensing wipers, and multiple drive and regeneration modes. VF 6 is inspired by philosophy of ‘The Duality in Nature’.

The VF 7 is a larger SUV (length over 4.5 m, 2,840 mm wheelbase) and comes with two battery pack options and five variants: Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity. The car also has two interior color options and two drivetrain options: FWD and AWD configurations.

  • Earth: 59.6 kWh battery, 130 kW power, 250 Nm torque, 10–70% charging in 24 minutes, 19-inch wheels, cruise control, and dual-zone AC.
  • Wind: 70.8 kWh battery, 150 kW power, 310 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 9.5 seconds, 28-minute fast charging, powered tailgate, driver monitoring system, and 8-way powered seat.
  • Sky: Dual motor AWD system, 260 kW power, 500 Nm torque, 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.
  • Wind Infinity / Sky Infinity: Adds a panoramic fixed glass roof.

Range: Earth – 438 km, Wind – 532 km, Sky – 510 km.

Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, heated ORVMs with auto-dimming, flush door handles, coloured HUD, dual-zone AC, LED projector headlamps, keyless entry, power driver seat, rain-sensing wipers, 7 airbags, 360° surround view, ADAS Level 2 safety features, 12.9-inch infotainment with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and fast charging support. The car embodies the ‘Universe is Asymmetrical’ design philosophy.

VinFast has partnered with banks and financial institutions for financing options. It is also working with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to establish charging and after-sales networks. With BatX Energies, it plans to develop battery recycling and circular value chain solutions.

The company plans to set up 35 dealer touchpoints and 26 workshops across 27 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, and Lucknow, by the end of 2025.

Both SUVs will be assembled at VinFast’s Thoothukudi plant, which will cater to domestic as well as export demand.

VinFast has operations in North America, Europe, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Middle East. In Vietnam, it is the largest domestic automobile manufacturer. The company is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker VFS and is expanding its global distribution and manufacturing network.
