Tata unveils Nexon.ev SUV | Starting at INR 14.74 Lakhs

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, a subsidiary of Tata Motors, introduced the all-new Nexon.ev. As per the official statement, Nexon.ev is equipped with a forward-thinking digital design, futuristic driving experience, and intuitive features accessible via gadgets. Starting at INR 14.74 Lakh, it will be available at authorized dealerships nationwide. Nexon.ev is available in three distinct personas – Empowered, Fearless, and Creative – tailored to various lifestyles.

All-new Nexon.ev in brief:

The Nexon.ev introduces a digital design language, showcasing a tech-forward and aspirational character. It features a smart digital lighting system for seamless communication, including bi-functional LED DRLs, a center position lamp, and a smart charging indicator. The vehicle also greets users with a welcome signature upon unlocking and a goodbye message upon locking.

In terms of technology, the Nexon.ev offers a 31.24 cm (12.3 inch) ultra-high-definition touchscreen infotainment system, the largest in its segment. The audio experience is enriched with Harman’s AudioworX and nine high-quality JBL speakers. Additionally, a 26.03 cm (10.25 inch) high-definition fully reconfigurable instrument cluster enhances the cinematic visual experience.

Another feature is the introduction of an app store, Arcade.ev, a first in India. This allows users to enjoy various video, productivity, navigation, and gaming apps, including OTTs. The vehicle also offers four Voice Assistants to cater to diverse customer needs. Tata’s ZConnect Connected Car Technology has been upgraded to offer over 60+ features, including remote control car functions.

Efficiency has been a focal point, maximizing battery pack energy utilization. The Nexon.ev LR now boasts an increased range of 465km (MIDC Certified), up by 12 km. The vehicle offers a digital driving experience with multi-mode regen and multi-drive modes, catering to modern driver preferences.

Safety standards have been raised with six airbags as standard, ESP with i-VBAC, SOS Call for emergency assistance, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and a 360o surround view camera system with a blind spot view monitor for spatial awareness.

The Nexon.ev introduces features like V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle charge) and V2L (Vehicle to Load). V2V charging allows the Nexon.ev to charge another compatible EV, facilitating opportunity charging scenarios. With V2L technology, the Nexon.ev can act as a power bank, powering external gadgets and appliances.

The vehicle also offers Over-The-Air (OTA) capabilities, enabling software upgrades and ensuring an uncompromised ownership experience. The Nexon.ev offers diverse charging options and quiet driving experience for owners.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) holds a dominant 70% market share in the 4-wheeler EV segment. According to the company statement, they’ve recently achieved the milestone of selling 1 lakh Tata EVs. TPEM’s 3-phase EV strategy aims to provide varied body styles at accessible prices, aligning with consumer needs, and emphasizes Sustainability, Community, and Technology in their approach. Their goal is to set new standards in the EV segment, as claimed by the source.
