MY EV Store introduces IME Rapid with a claimed range of 300 km

Bengaluru-based multi-brand electric 2W retail startup, MY EV Store has introduced the IME Rapid, an electric scooter, which claims to offer a range of 300 kilometres on a single charge and can reach a speed of 80 km/hr. The company plans to adopt a Franchise Owned Company Operated (FOCO) model for its launch in Bengaluru, where it already has 60 retail outlets and intends to extend its presence to 15 to 20 cities in Karnataka, as per the official statement.

The IME Rapid’s extended range is attributed to MY EV Store’s proprietary Smart Range Technology (SRT), which analyzes various factors like battery status, weather conditions, traffic density, and driving patterns in real time to provide accurate range predictions. This technology aims to reduce concerns about limited range and promote the adoption of electric vehicles as an eco-friendly choice.

The IME Rapid electric scooter will be available in three variants with ranges of 100, 200, and 300 kilometres. It features a 2000 W motor and battery capacities ranging from 60V-26/52/72 AH, achieving a top speed of 80 km/hr. The IME Rapid variants are priced between Rs. 99,000 and Rs. 1.48 lakh.

Mr. Puneeth Gowda, Founder and Managing Director of MY EV Store, stated, “The rising levels of air pollution in India demand urgent action, and electric vehicles offer the most viable solution. Nevertheless, apprehensions surrounding limited range have hindered mass EV adoption. With the IME Rapid, we have shattered this barrier and introduced a scooter that surpasses all previous benchmarks, making sustainable transportation not only viable but also convenient. The company is currently focusing on a Franchise Owned Company Operated (FOCO) model to launch in Bengaluru. We will soon be expanding our IME Rapid range in 15 to 20 cities across Karnataka”.

Electric mobility solutions are gaining traction in India, and the industry is poised for growth. According to a report by Redseer Strategy Consultants, electric two-wheeler sales in India are projected to reach 22 million units by 2030. However, the issue of range anxiety remains a significant concern that hampers consumer confidence in electric two-wheelers.

MY EV Store has partnered with financial institutions like Kotak Mahindra, Shriram Finance, and Manappuram Finance to provide simplified financial schemes for customers. The company also plans to offer a warranty and easy spare parts availability in Bengaluru for customer convenience.
